Dear Sir or Madam:

I would like to help and be involved in your organization to give the kids
access this wonderful laptops to better educate them for a brighter future.

I have a friend in the government who recently asked me what project we can
offer to the kids and I suggested the One Laptop per Child instead of the
7" inch tablet from India that are being offered to our LGU's now.

How can I help your organization? I'm willing to give my time and offer
whatever I can.

Please give me your guidelines. So I study further on how you can utilize
me in helping out.

Sincerely,

JiLL Raymundo

Thanks for your interest in Constructing learning through Technology (CLT)

We are growing fast with donations of computers growing beyond
expectations.  We have new centers opening up and we are thankful to
folks like you who can help us meet our mission.

We have 8 centers, some are in Taytay, others in Pasay, Ortegas, one in Malate and one
in Paranaque in San Dionicio.  The map and list are at
www.constructing-learning.com

WE
have a lab in a Home For Kids in Pasay that needs setting up.  If you
have Techie Friends that would be a great project.  We can get you hours
for school that way too.  Pics for this project are here in FlickR
http://www.flickr.com/photos/jmannion/5225699934/  The one in Paranaque is called the Drop In Center pics are here http://www.flickr.com/photos/jmannion/5535000892/

Your role will be to be a mentor in the room.  See the web page at http://constructing-learning.com/our-tools-learning

Currently
we are doing an outreach and need help with admin and marketing.  An
easy way to start that is to vie wour FB page and give us a LIKE and
share it with your network.  That's how we find folks!

Hi Jon

I am on the mailing list for OLPC and received your letter below. I have just last week arrived to live in Boracay and I intend staying here for the foreseeable future (5 years?).
Back in Australia I ran the Church of All Nations community Support Agency in Carlton Victoria, which included a computer recycling project supplying ex government machines ( 1500 of them) to recently arrived refugee communities. Plus training and technical support. Also I ran a Family Learning Program for Horn of African refugees.

I am not a specialist IT person but have good management skills and recognise the importance of Providing access to the digital world for low income people, especially kids.

Is there anything I can do in Boracay to help with your project? are there any proposals for this area?

I have previously had discussions with the local Rotary here and have some links to local schools. I am hoping to start a homework club here using tourists as volunteer tutors

please keep me in touch

regards

Stephen Dobson
